The Christian Paradox
From an article in Harper's Magazine:
85 percent of US people polled say they are Christian, yet only 40 percent can name more than four of the Ten Commandments.
Twelve percent believe Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife.
Three quarters of Americans believe the Bible teaches that “God helps those who help themselves”. Not only is the Bible not the source of the quote, it has the opposite message.
